Antique Scottish Dog Kilt Hat Pin Brooch

Description

Antique Scottish horse hair kilt. These were also used as hat pins, or possibly adorning a military helmet.  I am not sure of the metal, although, I think it might be pewter. A vase like pin holds the horse hair, and has a dog's face on the front, which makes it an unusual piece. Usually, it is an acorn, stag, or deer teeth. I have never seen one like this. A screw holds that in place. C clasp. Measures approx. 5 1/4" long. Very good condition. Please refer to photos.
