Opinion: Republicans want RFK Jr. in charge of health. They voted for it.

And so the clown show of the Trump administration’s nominations continues, this time in the form of an anti-vaxxer who could now be in charge of the Department of Health and Human Services.
For those of you who are having an issue keeping up with all the appointments President-elect Donald Trump is making, his latest choice is to have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. be the next HHS secretary.
Because, why not. Right?
I’m not here today to write about how God-awful a pick this is for anybody who actually cares about scientific research around health and “human services.” And I’m certainly not here to defend the entirety of HHS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s response to COVID-19 and any number of medical emergencies.
There are smarter people who can dissect that.
Opinion:Matt Gaetz is the perfect crash test dummy for Trump’s GOP Senate loyalty test
I’m just here to remind Republicans and Trump voters that this is what they voted for. This is what they wanted. This, honestly, is what most American voters chose a little more than a week ago.
Trump did nothing to hide what he wanted to do with the federal government. He has never pretended to care about anything other than full loyalty to him and his deranged MAGA movement.
Opinion:It’s on me to understand Trump voters? Here’s the parable of the face-eating bear.
All of his recent appointments fall directly in line with what we know about him. For almost 10 years, he has consistently been what he is today: Donald Trump.
Matter of fact, he was super clear about what he wanted RFK Jr. to do just last month during his racist Madison Square Garden rally in New York City. Trump said he wanted Kennedy to “go wild on health” and a few other things.
So, guess what? The wild is about to begin, and those of you who voted for it are the reason. Grab some popcorn, America. It’s all happening and now, because Republicans also control Congress and the Supreme Court, we get to see just how “wild” Trump will be allowed to play.
Sure, it’s frightening. But hey, voters are getting what they wanted, even those of you who didn’t vote or decided to “protest” vote.
Let the wild begin and remember why it’s happening.
